yes there is, actually: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biohydrogen_reactor

and for methane (aka kethane): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algae_fuel

So both are doable, but producing any of this in game would be more of a long-term investment in my eyes. You wait a whatever, add the extras to your fuel tanks. Add extra (soil/water/seeds) every whatever to account for the small but inevitible losses.

I also wouldn't mind being able to turn on some grow-lights, for when I am out past Jool.

I'm so glad to finally see this mod up on the forum as I've been using it for a while. I agree that just a greenhouse to create food would be nice to work with the TAC life support mod, and I am also in full support of a small part container for "seeds" as I often add an extra fuselage part to any ships that go out with the home2 greenhouse. which life support mod makes waste_water? its been a while since I've messed with any of them ever since TAC and Ironcross both started revamping and I'm waiting for a solid build to come out.

Awesome, do they do it on their own or do I have to activate something. I assume O2 takes a while to produce.

Also what option is it to set shutters to open as a action group, I can't seem to get the right one.

When placed in sunlight they will slowly produce O2 and consume CO2.

I don't think the action groups will work with the current modules. The animation is set up incorrectly, they are fixed in the next release.

Cool, thanks! I never really use the Kethane mod. I always wanted to something different to get fuel. This one works well for my simple needs and not many parts to add either.

I build a small space station with 4 modules from the mod, I'm orbiting Kerbin seems to be slow. 6-7 fps. I might try just two modules.

Wow really?! Ill have to look at this. I have experienced no drops in FPS, but i run on a machine with 14 of ram and a 2 gig vid card. If you notice anything I can adjust to help with this let me know.

The greenhouse was made VERY well by zzz. The poly count on it isn't as high as it looks. I think they used a little magic in making it.

I'm trying to eliminate the problem, if its not my PC. Doesn't appear to be this mod, I get 1 or 2 Framerates when I don't use the pieces. I'm taking out mods and putting them back in to find the problem, if nothing. It's my PC.

I have:

AMD Athlonn 64 X2 6000+ Duel Core

Its at 3.3 GHz

I only have 4 GB of DDR ram

Nvidia Geforce GTX 560ti 2gb memory

Windows 7 64

Yea that should run fine i would think. I have run into a similar problem before... if i remember correctly it turned out there was a ship or debris out there that was corrupted by something (mod or otherwise). Try creating a new game and see if the problem persists on a clean start, but with all your mods in place.

I'll give that a go, there is two other ships around, there might be some debris around.

Those look cool. Are they replacing the old ones? They looks slightly shorter. If they are replacements they might run better.

In the new release I'm making the reactor a separate part from the greenhouses. you can see its actually stacked on a greenhouse in the pic. So these new parts will be in addition to the greenhouses. There is also a Compressor module(for compressing Monoprop and Xenon gas), MicroBiome(creates nutrients for greenhouse by consuming waste), storage bay (to hold biomass/food), and 2 or 3 science experiments. I have several ships using up to 4 greenhouses, 8 solar panels etc and no lag. But I'll keep an eye on your problem and see if i need to rethink anything.

Ok my game doesn't like Universe Replacer at all. Even when I put mod in without textures it acts the same. When I take it completely out, the whole game is fast. Loading, VAB is really smooth. The test space station I was using is getting +10 fps. Thing was I wasn't using your parts on station, using stock and was getting that lag. So I took UR out, kind of sad I like the skybox of stars I had and the Kerbal orange suits, but its worth the frame rates.

I get frame rate drops when I put your parts on station, even the little O2 tanks, but everything seem better now.

Even without textures the plugin takes up a lot of KSP resources. The mod just sets up game to allow texture replacements, I doesn't come with any. So alone the mod plugin is system hog, lol.
