So I just got done launching my first .22 rocket (excited obviously) anyway I was coming down in the ocean and noticed a sound for the parachute deploying and a sound after it has been deployed! Also I noticed I sound as I was going up in the atmosphere that was an explosion I'm guessing it was the sound barrier, any thoughts? :)

That explosion you hear during launch sometimes is when a fuel tank runs out of fuel. There is a split second where the engine(s) flame out. Sometimes there are sparks to show this but not always. It's just a matter of timing and how much you're paying attention.

On another note...SCIENCE! :D

The "phhhutt" sound is from a flame-out, as Sma has pointed out. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It happens in one of Scott Manley's videos, where he manages to fly a large rocket into orbit after one of the tanks suffers a connection failure, even though there are remaining connected tanks with fuel in them. You'll know when it happens.

Parachute deploys sound...

Parachute fully opening sound...

I did notice something new though... my LV30s and 45s at full throttle sometimes have a little explosion sound and shoot sparks... but they aren't overheating and this doesn't seem to effect thrust... So I don't know if there are supposed to do that or not...

I think it happens during the transition from on of the layers of atmo to another or maybe from atmo to space... it looks and sounds kinda like the jet engine flame out effect ... but the engine doesn't flame out.
