Antennae stats make me go wha?

So... I've been poking at the antennae. They each have these stats:

Charge per packet

Packet Size

Transmission Interval

Throughput

Catch: What does this MEAN? I always figured Throughput was the rate of successful transmission; with ratings of 0.8, 0.6 and 0.4 for the antennae- as they're unlocked- does this mean they actually get WORSE? If so, why would I even bother using the 88-88?

It does sound worse! I too do not understand the stats.

Although, I have tried 2 antennae already, and they get better (faster).

Yeah but they look like they use more energy to be faster.

Does the packet size of your readings go up high enough that the speed of the transmission is ever the limiting factor?
