How to enable addons in career mode?

How can I enable addon added parts in career mode?

I can't seem to find any settings or .cfg thingies to enable this

(yes it'll allow for access to stuff that isn't researched yet - but you can always just not use that)

You could look at any of the stock Squad parts for the config lines you need...

needs to be added to 'editor parameters'

Also already several threads with this info on the forums...also in the KSP wiki...

I attempted to add mechjeb (the case) to the career mode. I made it show up in the tech tree, but it was greyed out when I go to build it in the vehicle hall - I have sought high and low looking for the method to insert something into career mode. The link to the KSP wiki talking of this or the other forum posts also would be peachy - thanks!
