While I can't speak for all Americans, I will say that I certainly realize our politicians are the laughing stock of rest of the world. I'm just excited to get more updates about LADEE now that the websites (NASA and Ames) are back online. Someone already posted an update in the LADEE thread.

Does any nation like their politicans? (i hate my local councillors...they are all too old to be making 21st century decisions)

Good to see the nasa site back up. Gives me something else to look at whilst at work tomorrow

I'm asking myself if americans realize, that their politicians are the laughingstock of the world.

Yes, we do. But only because they are the laughing stock here, not because we are savvy about what the rest of the world thinks.

Also, for the record, they didn't actually solve anything, so I hope everyone is ready to go through all of this in January again.

Yes, we do. But only because they are the laughing stock here, not because we are savvy about what the rest of the world thinks.

This made the news here in Canada yesterday: The Houston Chronicle, which previously endorsed Senator Ted Cruz in his bid to be elected to the US Senate, published an op-ed piece yesterday that retracted their support for Cruz and expressed regret that his predecessor, Senator Kay Hutchinson, didn't keep her seat. Probably the quote that caught the media's attention here in Canada was this one:

One reason we particularly believe that Hutchison would make a difference in these hectic days is that if she had kept her seat, Cruz would not be in the Senate.

Seems that the Houston Chronicle at least has a sense of humor...
