Whirligig Girl
It says "Ypu cannot use this right now" and I can't get the temperature log to work at all.
Kasuha
It's okay, you're just in an area where thermometer doesn't work. Land on something and it will start working. It also works in atmosphere.
possum
It works in low orbits as well.

Kerolyov
Thermometers do not work in high orbit but do work near a planet (both with and without atmosphere) ie low orbit and on surface. Barometers only work in an atmosphere.
hollyfeld
Problem: When I try to use the thermometer in a high orbit, I get the same message as GregroxMun. But then the button for logging data is permanently gone. I cannot use the thermometer ever again, even when I reach a low orbit! Is this intentional? If so, why would this one part be one-time use when all other science parts can be reused? As a possible related issue, why would the temperature display read -199.98C when the actual temperature of the part is 0C?
tetryds
Thread closed, if you have more issues about the termomether please create a new topic.By the way, that temperature reading is just fine, you can achieve such temperatures IRL somewhat easily.
