transmitting and/or recovering data..

sorry if this was asked already.. but i still dont understand it:

so, if you transmit data from experiments, you get only 60-20% data per transmission. does this mean you are loosing data in comparison to landing and recovering the vessel? or can you simply transmit more often (with slower diminishing returns) than recover and you get the same amount of science in the long run both ways?

The max for science is the same if returned or transmitted, however it requires you to transmit more than it would to return. If you transmit an experiment until you stop getting science points for it, you'll be at the same point as if you recovered the experiment until you stopped getting points for it.
