Problem with a hatch obtructed by a RSC.

Recommended Posts

Hi, today i was building a station to go to Eve and Gilly to search for kethane, so i moved my crew to a storage container that had a RCS block in the hatch, i don't know why but they normally entered in the container, but when i try to leave they say they can't leave because something is obstructing the hatch, is there a way to remove the rcs or my crew from there?

Here some images :D

Just the station(unfinished)

You can try to knock it off with the whack-a-kerbal tool on the alt+f12 debug menu, or if you are feeling brave and back up your save first, you can try to edit the persistent.sfs

But really the best thing is to never put something over the door :/

They got in because they only need to be positioned within a certain distance to be valid for boarding. However exiting puts them in a very specific spot and if that spot is blocked the game will refuse to spawn them, saying the hatch it blocked.

If you want to get them out without any file editing or debugging menu you could try physically knocking the RCS thruster off. I'd really save first since the RCS thruster has almost three times the impact resistance, so you'll need to take it off with a glancing blow rather then just flying something straight at it.
