Made it back from the Mun on Career mode, VERY CLOSE

I was coming back from the Mun first time( on career mode) and with the return burn from Munar orbit was close, like, skin of your teeth close. I had 3 and half units of Liquid fuel and 4.3 units of Oxidizer left. It was AMAZING, I even have pictures to prove it XejVeXY.png?1x1xL3eO.png?1mYIsRwZ.png?1OEb0jSM.png?1eOGoosi.png?1YtJgd5P.png?1

Hope you all enjoy,

Your friendly Medieval Kerbal,

Sir Jeb :)

My first career mode Mun landing was pretty much like that. Tweaking the maneuver node to make the final burn as efficient as possible and then just hoping the fuel would last long enough to get me home! Nerve wracking stuff.

Lots of fuel left! Just to clarify is this your very first munar return or just first in career mode? Because you know as long as you get your Kerbin Periapsis down to like 40,000m the atmosphere will catch you and suck you in.

Not from the moon it won't, I believe (coming back from the moon) from 69km-37km you'll bounce back out of the atmosphere, and at 33-37km you'll just fly back up but not leave the atmosphere and <33km you'll be sucked in.
