To flesh it out a bit, the What If? was about what would happen if there was an asteroid with Earth's gravity and when you take off what strange orbits it would produce.

In the KSP universe, gravity only acts on objects' centers-of-mass, so there would be no strange orbits. And we're already answering this question to a degree: Kerbin is 10x smaller than the Earth by radius, yet has the same surface gravity.

In fact, depending on the rotational period, you might get escape velocity on the top of a ladder...

Or the top parts of you anyway...

EDIT : to keep up with the long chain of people introduced to KSP thanks to a certain webcomic "of romance,

sarcasm, math, and language", it's also the 'ADD' strip that led me to type 3 innocent looking letters in google...
