Solar Eclipse 3 November, 2013

Will you be able to see it from Wisconsin?

No, the path of the eclipse passes over the Atlantic and Africa in the map that lajos posted. You don't get to see one from Wisconsin until August of 2017. Even then it will only be a partial eclipse in Wisconsin. You'd have to drive south to see totality.

Definitely make the effort to see one if you can. I saw a total solar eclipse from Southern Germany in 1999. During totality, the street lights came on, the birds stopped singing... Everything was quiet. You could see the edge of the moon's shadow coming as the clouds started to light up again in the distance. The speed was immense. I have never felt so small and insignificant.

I'm going to watch it, but only just barely. At sunrise, the US East Coast will be able to see a partial eclipse. The best place to see it in the US is around NJ, CT, RI, and MA, which is where I live - the sun will be about 55% covered up at sunrise.

You'll be able to see part of it as far west as Atlanta, GA and Pittsburgh, PA.

I ended up with about 95%, 10 km out of Kampala, still pretty cool but close to impossible to take photos. Messed around with my phone and camera...of course ran out of power on my camera (kerbal style) and haven't yet charged it. I will check it tonight after work.

I didn't know about it or I would've gotten up to see it along with the F1 race. I actually woke up at about the right time to see it, but I decided I'd just watch the DVR of the race later and went back to sleep. I would've had to drive to a clearing though, It would've been too low in the sky to see from where I live (Florida).
