If you want more realism you really need to study from real life using references. Tarnished metal has a lot of different shades/hues/textures/color densities.

Your technique seems to be to just use the paint bucket and brush, but you can really do it a whole lot better by throwing down some base colors that compliment each other and erase in different opacity\'s to create variation, density, and to mimic rust and grime around major edges while taking it away from flat center areas creating landmarks and etc.

Looks more like peeling paint, but I don\'t think it would hold up very well if I was looking at it very close.

Darrknox has some very good advice I think for helping you continue to improve, he sounds like an Art guy.

Me, I\'m only good at taking photos that are useless for texture mapping.

Space camouflage would probably be some kind of matte black coating that makes it non-reflective, and damn near impossible to see; with radar or otherwise.

My experiences in the past after trying that method usually ended up in me being told I was wrong and the continued insistence that the work was of the utmost quality and I was but a lowly peon compared to their skills. This most often wouldn\'t be the case but for whatever reason, it felt like it this time after seeing his previous interactions with the community. I guess I was wrong for that part.

Stop justifying your belligerent attitude by saying 'I don\'t want this game to become like minecraft' It\'s nonsensical. Your fears about the development course of a completely different game does not give you the right to be a jerk. 'BUT MINECRAFT!' Is not a valid excuse to flame people.

You complain that you want people to learn how to do things, then call anyone who doesn\'t ask a question that is worthy of your high and mighty intellect an idiot. The Hypocrisy is astounding. You demand people learn and berate them if they do not, and never bother to teach anyone.
