Modular girder segment and fuel flow

I've been having some perplexing issues when building ships using the modular girder segment in the career mode. Engines at the end of a modular girder segment attached to the main rocket are drawing fuel from the centre stack even though there shouldn't be a connection as the girder does not support fuel flow (as I'm aware).

This however only got more confusing when I introduced decouplers into the mix. Usually a fuel tank and an engine attached to a radial decoupler won't drain from the centre stack, nothing new there at all. But if I put a girder between the outer fuel tank and the decoupler suddenly it's drawing from there! I'll post some pics as soon as I get home (probably around 5 hours from posting this) but this really is confusing me and making me require severe changes to simple designs that should by all means work.

Hopefully one of you can shed some light on this truly strange occurrence.

Girders do support fuel flow, like pretty much everything else.

The thing with decouplers appears to be a bug that's been reported a couple times.

The only way I've heard of is to not attach the top of any subsequent part to the girder (i.e. don't attach it via the green node ball in the VAB); if you can attach it to the side, you should be alright.

If it says 'crossfeed capable' or something like that, it supports fuel flow

But it looks really weird, that's why I always attack fuel line with it, looks better

That's just the thing, none of the girders say "crossfeed capable" on them.

Yes they do. Oh wait are you talking about the solid girders? Yeah, they don't say crossfeed capable, only the cage-looking ones do.

Been looking at the part configuration files. I know that the decouplers don't crossfeed, and if you look at them there's a parameter that says "fuelCrossfeed = false"; I didn't see that in the cfg of many of the parts, and that includes Girders. It may not be explicit, but it looks they do indeed allow fuel flow.

Incidentally, I-beams don't.
