Modding the Campaign

While I love the new campaign, and fully accept the restrictions and features it implements, I still would like to be able to use mods on it. I don't know if it is possible to use mods when finishing the tech tree, if it is completely disabled, or if you need to install them into a different folder. Does anybody know one is able to use mods on the campaign, and if so, do you need to copy them somewhere else in the directory?

NOTE: The only mod I wish to use is a simple protractor to make planetary transfers easier, nothing that would break the campaign.

Yes, plugins with no parts just work.

It's worth trying them out as the plugin system was not really affected by 0.22 so it is quite possible they will require no updates to work. (The smaller mods anyway.)
