Is it possible to recover a save file from the hell kraken?

This is the first time the hell kraken happened to me in 0.22 (2nd time overall).

When I EVA'd my kerbal on the mun, the screen went black and the altimeter went berserk the moment the kerbal hit the ground. When I returned to the space center, everything was black and I could do nothing. Quickloading didn't solve the problem either.

I ended up deleting my save last time this happened because it messed it up. Because of career mode, though, I don't want to part with my save. What can i do?

Did you back up your save? That's the only way I'm aware of to save it.

Try exiting your game, closing it down entirely, then restarting it. Should be ok.
