Trapped???

I am working on a large project that is set next the Great Munhole. My issue is that I cannot quicksave or return to the space center. I REALLY do not want to lose my work on my most recent landing, as the same thing has happened before and my save got sort of rolled back. When I try to click the Space Center button, it appears to be pressed, except does nothing. Doing an F5 quicksave does not show any signs of quicksaving either. Please help! I seriously do not want to do this entire flight over again for a third time!

A few things can cause this. Make sure you are: landed, not moving, not under acceleration whatsoever (shut down SAS) and of course the most obvious, throttle down.

If push comes to shove, look top right of your screen (normally above your resources window), wait for "autosaving...", check your persistent.sfs file under KSP/Saves/gamename and if it has a new timestamp then Alt-F4 your game, as everything will be saved to your persistent file.

That crashed my game and reverted it to what I assume was the last autosave, back when I was in orbit. I know once I land the problem will likely occur again though.

Can you make a manual Quicksave? If you can do that you can try loading that to force a reset in the physics.

Cant now that I've landed. It autosaved, but I can not do a quicksave or return to KSC. Argh! Btw, is there a difference between a F5 quicksave and a manual quicksave (just checking )

Hmm... I just noticed that while on EVA and in motion, F5 does respond. It says the usual "can't save while about to crash" thing. But when I land and stop moving, I get no response when I quicksave. I have an external hard drive, and I hear it scratch the disk when I press F5, likely a sign of saving, however I still cant go to the space center or switch vessels on the map.

I loaded the last quicksave... It was in space again.
