What are your limits?

Space planes.

I can build a plethora of jets, some even able to carry crazy high loads (though they closer resemble a 747 than they do an average space plane). Getting one that can take off, hit atmo, and return however always escapes me. I always either have a burnout because I took it too high on the jet engines or I don't have the fuel to reach orbit.

This. I think it's mostly due to placement of RCS blocks, and mainly orientation of the craft relative to the camera. It's really hard to dock when all your controls are rotated 90 degrees.

Press v to set you view to chase. This way you'll always have a reference with the correct rotation.

My limits;

-Never made a spaceplane which could make it to space.

-SSTO's

Also haven't visited all the planets yet although I think I could if I tried.

I haven't tried to return from eve or tylo. Other than that I have managed to figure most things out. Part count has scared me way from trying a return mission from eve, but I'm thinking of trying it. SSTO took a little learning, with flame-outs and when to start up the jets. I made a VTO plane to get my kerbals back to base from water landings. That was a hard plane to design. It landed in the water with parachutes. Then had vertical engines to get it back out of the water then another would kick on for forward thrust. That was how we use to have to recover people from back in the day.

Interplanetary travel. I can successfully make it round-trip to Duna and Eve. That leaves me with Duna, Ike, and Gilly (Eve? You are joking.) Oh, and I have a kerbal stranded on Eve that I'll probably never be able to save.

My biggest hangup is FAR SSTOs that I like and look sleek. I don't like large wings on aircraft that are designed to go super/hypersonic because I feel it is unrealistic, and as such my craft don't generate enough lift, or they don't have enough power in the upper atmosphere. (Using 1/10th RSS Atmo ends at 130km)

Full scale exploration of Jool. Or basically going to Jool in career mode. My game crashed and the Kraken ate both probes before they reached the Green Planet. I even had encountered a Jool directly from the ejection burn. But my computer was working against me.

I should build a computer. One that can play KSP. Not run it, but play the game.

Landing aircraft. I always seem to miss the runway. Maybe that'll change with 1.0.

Apollo style landers. I can never find a good configuration for launching a CM and LM together... I can only do

a). Lander to mun, return ship comes later.

B). Lander that can land and return.

And also I suck with large lifters.

I have never been able to make a plane that takes off right.

I've never been able to land a plane.

I've tried space planes, never got out of the atmosphere, so failed there also - obviously.

Been playing at least a year now, just sent a ship to jool system - my goodness how it wobbled and flexed. Had to do 3 burns, disable engines and work at about 2m/s acceleration. took about 3 kerbal (kerbol?) days.

I've just made this stupid little light stand thing that i was going to put under the arch on the mun, cant get the damn thing to stand up.

An SSTO Spaceplane w/ a decent payload cap (40t +) in a stock game.

Eye, I canna do it!

I'm working on that!

I've had to conquer every other bit of the game in the attempt. (delta V, Isp, long burns, and several game bugs)

The Joolian Exploratory Fleet launches this week! (for sure this time!) :D

My limitations are 1+ year necros? ;)

Didn't notice until you said, I thought it was just a few months...

Those. Stupid. SSTO. Spaceplanes. Never can get them into orbit. (but I've put one over 150,000 meters, if that's anything.)

My problem is not getting them up there, it's getting them back down in one piece. Using FAR I find that they spin out and I end up in charge of a tumbling metal death machine instead of a nice angled shuttle like descent.

Rendezvous. I know how, but it's so much maths and brain-work that I'll just have mechjeb do it for me.

Aircraft. I have yet to design one that works, doesn't flip over and crash, and can do a meaningful amount of stuff.

I mean, I made ONE to do a contract, but jesus christ. I didn't even have wheels for it, so it took off on girders. And it tumbled whenever I went too high/fast/low/slow, so I couldn't land it and resorted to the emergency chutes.

I don't do the math either but I can rendezvous much quicker than Mech Jeb. Just set a manouver node and drag it around your orbit until you see an encounter. If you're too far away increase/decrease altitude In order to get a little closer before you look for the encounter.
