Tourists

So I was thinking about how I often make satellites instead of manned rockets, and it got me to thinking. Why ever bring along kerbals?

The answer: Money!

The career mode needs a mechanic to provide income. My suggestion is that we should be able to bring along kerbals that pay us in one of three ways:

1: They pay depending on where we take them, like how science works now, except the pay would not deminish.

2: Taxi service, they tell us where to go, and we fly them back and forth.

3: Hotel service.

a) -We decide where to put them, and they pay us depending on where it is

B) -They request a destination, we get them there.

The hotel service would provide cash in one of three ways:

- They pay regularly as long as they are in the hotel

- Same as before, but diminished pay as time passes (to give us a reason to relocate them/bring them back)

- They pay for staying a finite amount of time. When the time expires, they need to be transported back and new tourists needs to be transported up.

Tourists would pay when they are dropped off at the space center (location of the drop off might effect the amount of money payed), and loosing tourists would cost money as a penalty.

I'm suggesting ways to make money because currently no way to make money have been implemented. And instead of passive income, which is lame, we need a way to make money that rewards success with cheap spacecrafts. This does.

And i'm suggesting tourism because it's actually real. Other than government or private funding, along with the launch of commercial satellites, this is the only current way to make money with space crafts.

And lastly, this provides a functionality for space stations, where currently none other than being fuel depots exists.

This would be a good mod suggestion, though. Heck if Roscosmos can do it, why not Kerbals?

Agreed, such mod woudl be nice. It would bring more variety to the game. Space tourism is just one more aspect of space exploration.

But i dont see reason to put it in vanilla game.
