insufficient delta-v?

Recommended Posts

hello, im conducting my first ever Mun mission, using the Apollo styled method.

i descended to the Mun with a poodle, X200-8 and a mk2, using mechjeb to autoland.

after landing mj returned a terrible value: 690 m/s dV remaining.

do i have enough fuel for the ascent?

and should i change the X200-8 into a -16 in future missions?

640's enough to get you into a low orbit around Mün. So yes, it can take off to a low orbit (say 14k). Hopefully you packed RCS too, otherwise re-docking with the CSM is going to be problematic.

i packed some rcs but i didnt add thrusters. lol

640 should even be enough to return to Kerbin, if you plan it right.

Without RCS thrusters the docking is going to be very problematic though

640 should be enough for anyone
