Rover tutorial?

Okay, so I'm decently experienced now, being able to build craft out of stock parts for landing on the Mun and Minmus and getting back, and have done a Duna flyover.

One thing I'm not sure how to start, though, is rover construction. Specifically how to get them to orbit, land, then back, using stock parts. My main problem is there seems to be nowhere good to put the rover on the launch vehicle. Anyone have tips? thanks

So, I usually mount the rovers on the top of my ship or if I have a docking station, I can mount multiples on the sides.
