vardicd
Possible bug, I have several ground stations on kerbin with the Reflectron ss-5 and a matching station on Mun, the Mun station dish is targeting Kerbin, and the Kerbin ground stations are targeting the Mun, and the Mun ground station separately, but I have no connection? The Reflectron ss-5 says its for Munar communication, but does it not have the range to reach ground to ground? will it only work in orbit, am I doing something wrong? the stations all have plenty of power, and clear line of sight. i'd post pictures, but I don't know how.I just double checked, if I have a satilite in orbit point a dish at the Mun, I get a connection, but the ground stations on Kerbin do nothing, no connection at all. Your ground station does not have a Signal Processor and can not relay signals.*snip*Common error, not the cause. Re-enable all your mods till the problem re-occurs to pinpoint the problem. Do you mean my ground stations need a probe core to work like I meant them too, even though they are manned? If that's what it is, I'm going to feel so dumb. Hodo
Just FYI for everyone and this mod. If you have Engineering Redux for all pods mod, the module manager that comes with that mod conflicts with RemoteTech2. I have no clue why they conflict, I am no programmer. therealcrow999
What version of Engineering Redux do you have? The one I have doesn't come with module manager. If you want the latest Module Manager that works for 1.3, this mod has it. Its version 1.0.4992. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/0-21-1-athlonic-electronics-lcd-launch-countdown-audioonscreen/Just FYI for everyone and this mod. sidfu
ok fixed it there was a entry in my custom .cfg to add chatter to the attana for some reason. once removed it it worked fine.
Duke-49th
Finally its out now for 0.22 Good work and thanks a lot!Good decission to keep out the delay until there is an automated control. Too much difficult to control anything with only just 2 seconds delay. Not to talk about several minutes delay

GrimJim
Don't suppose there's an option for infinite range? IE only LoS to transmitters/recievers matter, and the reason to use larger antenna over the smaller variety is for the amount of data that can be pushed? gangsta_playa
Is it me or is the archive from spaceport corrupted? And thanks for updating (rewriting?) it Just ignore this post. It's a problem with spaceport not with the Archive you uploaded Edited November 3, 2013 by gangsta_playa

therealcrow999
I get same with Communotron 16. With mod they will fall off most likely during launch, it only happens when I have them extended. This adds realism to those antenna.Didn't get 1.0.5, but i had a question. Upon launch, all my antennaes are off, but somehow i can go into orbit and all. What kind of unicorn fart is keeping my ship together ? therealcrow999
I guess I have to remember to add my Communotron to action group and toggle on before transmitting science.
15nelsoc
Your math is correct power5000, the distance between any two satellites would be around 6000km. You would need antennae of at least a range of just over 6000 km, unless of course range is calculated by some additive formula rather than just by the limiting range. power5000
ok thank you I'm only in 10th grade and only in the starts of geometry so I wanted to get my math checked thank you and that is very sad since I think the longest range atenna is only 5Mm... Ralathon
so my atenna wont work correct?Yea, side 3 is 6006830 meters. You can check it using simple trigoniometrics:cos(pi/6)*3467057*2=6006830.So no, your antennas wouldn't reach that. Either use a lower orbit or use more satellites. You'll need at least:Ceiling(2*pi/arccos(3.5e6/(2*3467057))) = 7 satellites evenly spaced in geosynch with that antenna. I suggest simply going lower, I tend to use an 1.5 hour orbit. 3 sats easily cover that.
Cilph
If you want a geosynchronous 3 satellite configuration the required antenna range would be 2* (radius + height) * cos 30deg = 2* (2868km+600km) * 0.866 = approx 6Mm. Not enough for the strongest omnidirectional antenna of 5Mm.However, four satellites or using dishes, would work.Four satellites: sqrt(2*(2868km+600km)^2) = approx 4.9Mm Edited November 3, 2013 by Cilph
15nelsoc
Cilph, just to make sure I understand dishes clearly, if I were to launch a probe to Duna, I would both have to set the probe's dish to target one in orbit of Kerbin, and set one of the dishes on a satellite orbiting Kerbin to target the Duna probe before the probe got out of signal range? GrimJim
Hmm... looking at the config files, would I just have to remove the Mode0/Mode1 lines or change them to an astronomically high number to get the "Only LoS Needed" effect I'm looking for?
