It probably has something to do with the fact that this is a KSP forum, and as such anything too closely related to KSP will be jumped on. :P

Harder is usually better, but try not to be too vague -- if there are fifty different answers that fit your riddle to a T, and you're only looking for one specific one, it becomes more of an exercise in frustration than anything else. (I've even occasionally accepted answers that I hadn't originally considered when making a riddle if they fit my clues pretty perfectly.)

Norpo is supposed to be next, but if he doesn't seem to want to be making one, you can have another go... unless KerBlam wants to try their hand at making a riddle. :)

Man. I'll admit, this took me a few minutes. It hit me like a brick wall.

So, how about that riddle I've been making since this morning?

Difficult riddle time? I spent a while formulating this:

Corroding away without acidity

Effortlessly breaking all solidity

Destroying life, swallowing homes

Cutting metal as if soft foams

My presence is always

Like walls in hallways

You use me for all

Even if small

The end may be near, but I will thrive

As you all perish, I will survive

Yet in spite of everything listed...

I can tell you I've never existed

What am I?

Light doesn't exist?
From the point of view of a photon travelling through vacuum, no time elapses between it being emitted and it hitting something, even if that something is billions of light-years away. Hence it could well say that it had never existed.

Anyway, how about darkness? Or cold? Both being absences rather than things in themselves.

Out of curiosity, what precisely were you looking for? :D

I crafted this specifically to drag you a little off course. The answer I had in mind was History, which is why I guess Time also works.

History is the (2nd) only thing that does this. Over it's course, things degrade, solids break, lives are lost, and homes are destroyed.

"My presence is always

You are always in history, just as walls are always in a hallway. Everything you do is written down, even the smallest thing.

"The end may be near, but I will thrive

As you all perish, I will survive

Yet in spite of everything listed...

I can tell you I've never existed"

History knows the end, but it will continue on. Even when we're gone, it will continue writing.

When it comes right down to it, history is a created thing. There may be things like the past in the real world, but the logs of history are man made.

So, I guess technically they are different answers? Time is a reference to all passages and to-be-events, where history looks at the past.

But they're also too similar to say Time is wrong.

You are DANGEROUSLY close to the right answer! Oh man, should I just give it to you... That's impressive...

Haha thanks. My thought process was something like:

"never existed" - it's a concept of some sort.

"My presence is always" and "the end may be near, but I will thrive" - it's endless.

Some sort of religious belief. God(s), maybe? No, the first stanza - destroying everything, so that's unlikely. (long pause) Oh, I don't know. Anyway, what time is it? Nearly ten o'cl... TIME!!! That sounds to fit well. (rereads riddle) That fits very well. Time.

In that case I'll try to come up with a moderately difficult riddle. (My first one appeared to be too easy, and I don't really have enough time to attempt to write a cryptic verse)

Heh, that reminds me of how I solved Vexx's pen riddle. I couldn't figure the damn thing out, and then my English instructor told the class to take out a pen.

It was one of those moments where there was just this sudden click. :)

Riddles are fun.
