Google strikes again!

So you know how after Google bought Youtube they started making very bad changes to it willy nilly and completely ignored the community by forcing us to merge our Youtube accounts with Google+ because no one would use it on their own accord? Well now they took it a step too far. Look at the Youtube comments if you haven't already.

No character limit

"Mute" instead of spam

Can choose to not allow likes/dislikes and replies for your comments

All the comments in a format worse than me trying to build a stable SSTO

HASHTAGS

For the love of all the internets, Google, change it back!

I prefer a different Google topic, like the mystery barge in San Francisco Bay. This CBS site has all about it.

EDIT: Yeah, sorry about the last sentences. It is really curious, though...

Been explained already by Google. They will host events, training facilities and purchase of Google stuff.

Man, this move by Google has really upset me. I don't *want* a Google+ account and I've had my YouTube channel for years. But now I can't see my channel's inbox or even reply to comments. Grrr. I'll quit YouTube before I accept a Google+ account.

Can anyone suggest a good alternative to YouTube for my tutorial videos?

Twitch?

no wait...hmm....no clue really!

EDIT:

Try ModDB's video things.

Anyone else notice the petition, which had ~50k sigs 2 or 3 days ago, now has 0?

or is that just an issue with my PC?

There are a few petitions out there, with different numbers of signatures. For example, this one is over 70,000, and this other one is close to 25,000. Both of which I signed. :)

The thing is, even if I *wanted* to make a Google+ account with my existing YouTube account (which I don't), I'd instantly be in violation of their Terms of Service, because Google+ doesn't allow anything but your real name. I've had that channel forever as 'pebblegarden' and I'm not going to change it just for Google+. I believe that's their real goal with this 'integration': to make your online identity equal your real identity (and all the Big Brother implications that come with it).

And their changes to the comments system on YouTube makes them almost unusable. Even if I could comment, which I can't. ON MY OWN CHANNEL. Grrrrr!

But it gets better, because Google is now working to integrate your actual physical body with your Google+ account. I kid you not. Check this out. And here's the patent. Wow, do I really want an RFID tattoo-from-hell on my neck like some kind of electronic leash/microphone? I think not. "Oh, but it's so convenient!" Yeah, right.
