Textures that are distressed, weathered, or scratched

Recommended Posts

I realize not all of us (myself included) took classes in computer aided design, or computer graphics. My limited knowledge came from trial and error, and some photoshop tutorials from back in the day.

Luckily today there are some very helpful tutorials floating around on the internet if you look for them. So I did some searching and found some texturing how-tos.

Most of these tutorials use Adobe\'s Photoshop, however the same can be achieved by using the free program Gimp (Available here) but just be aware that some of the tools may be different or be in different locations than photoshop\'s layout.

This last tutorial I found is a more comprehensive one specifically for gaming textures:

(sorry, no image preview as the images are rather large)
