Should Launch Clamps be stronger?

Recommended Posts

So for the last few days I've been trying to get a Duna rocket that has a TWR of 2.2 (Kerbin Gravity) in every stage. I didn't get my goal, with every stage only having a TWR of 1.6. The only problem is that the launch clamps just fall off when I try launching it. HH7nmgw.jpg. The rocket weighs 726.39t, has 12k Delta-v, and has 24 launch clamps to try and keep it on, which don't work. Surely they should be stronger, as they are attached to the floor?

Moved to Suggestions subforum since this is posed as a discussion for a change. Please consider more carefully where you place new threads, if you're unsure and just want to ask about something then Gameplay Questions, if you want to discuss changing something then Suggestions. General Discussions is for general stuff that doesn't have any other clear location.

As for this particular issue, I've never had any problems with launch clamps, as already noted by several placement is important. Looking at yours OP, lower your rocket so it's just above the pad and raise the launch clamps. Like any other part the launch clamp attachments experience physics and will break off if poorly placed.
