Career Path Starting point

Recommended Posts

Hi

This is likely to have been covered elsewhere in which case please accept my apologies, I understand that the game is still being developed, however, the earliest rocket I can make is sending a poor kerbal up into space. A somewhat risky affair to say the least and often ending in his demise / miraculous escape. I note that the game holds the ability to make satellites and unmanned rockets would it not make sense to provide those command modules as a first step?

I can see the logic if it's to reiterate the inherent clumsiness in the kerbal psych, something that is illustrated nicely enough with my early attempts of lets get into space.

I just wondered why and also to ensure i am not missing some essential game play in career mode. IE answers like you can, look here would be greatfully recieved.

Also add kerbodogs, kerbomonkeys and kerbomouses as unpilotted uncontrollable pod

This might make sense as the first man sent probe also was computer controlled. As in the game it's quite easy to make first steps of science just by digging around the KSC.

This has indeed been asked, commented and ranted about to the point that it's a futile topic to bring up. Feel free to dig through the search function (select thread titles only and input Career, for example), beyond that there's no real reason to keep this topic open. Also it's not exactly a gameplay question, you're either making a suggestion or asking a rhethorical question (general discussions).

Best reasoning I've read is that the game is called Kerbal Space Program, the little green dudes that want to reach space so bad they're willing to strap themselves to SRBs and just go. It's not called Probecore Space Program. Not starting with Kerbals would limit the game's feel significantly.

Also, it IS a computer game, not a realworld simulation, thus it doesn't have to make sense in the normal regard on every little point.

With all that said, please use the search function to find more to read about this topic, it really has been talked to death though so locking this thread.
