Sun Stealer aka the Electronic Vehicle-1 Mark-9

The Sun Stealer is an Electric Airplane. It is by far the most maneuverable, and the easiest to land out there. The only required mod for this plan is the Firespitter, Propeller Planes Mod.

I set out to make a plane that could fly on other plants, because I always felt parachutes are a boring way to get down. And after about 5 versions that jsut didn't make me happy. But what finally came out is not jsut good looking, but a treat to fly. Theres no combustion so she can fly on any planet with an atmosphere. She can't be put into a spin, and she can do a 180 in about 30ft. But best of all, being solar powered it has an unlimited flight range. Finally to make it awesome I set it up as a SubAssembly!

As for a plane just to fly around with it looks ok. For purpose though (Science, drop cargo, what ever else) I don't see many applications for it .

I'm not much into mods (simply because my poor laptop can't handle them) but this is awesome! What a great idea!

She has a lot of science gear on her. I launched her to most of the plant's and used it for science missions. I even got one on Moho.... on accident. xD And you may not see it, but she has 2 antennas on the wings. Finally, with all that battery storage, she can transmit almost endlessly, even while in the air. I did leave out the flight computer and the science bay, but mostly because they would have made the plane ugly. But you can strap the cone computer on her fairly easily if you really want to. I did it with radial decouplers and tiny fuel tanks, so I could drop them, or have them look like missiles. Just not be ugly. I've made way to many rockets that where only functional.

Cool! I tried to construct something like this before but with RTGs, so it always ended up being a bit too heavy. Also I love the Revelation Space reference.

For skill points, if your rocket blows up during the launch.... and they do... Try to detach the plane and land it. I've done it a few times, and its to funny. I guess that makes it kind of a Suborbital Ballistic spaceplane?

Heres a picture of the Mark 10, Armed Fighter Plane. I can uplaod if anyone wants it. She a bit heavy on take off, but with those missiles (Lazor Weapons Mod) you can blow up most anything. It's a great way of clearing the launch pad ^.^
