  1. More planes! This time the as of yet conceptual Lockheed Martin SR-72. Unmanned, with a big cargo bay for deliveries, bombs, or whatever else you want to put in there. The frontmost fuel tank has crossfeed disabled, so you can adjust the center of mass by transferring fuel to and from it as it drains from the other tanks. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Lockheed%20Martin%20SR-72.craft Reference image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4a/Lockheed_Martin_SR-72_concept.png
  2. The smallest manned rover I could make, in two versions: the minimalist one and the golf cart
  3. Long time no see! After a bit of a break from KSP I have started again now that 0.25 has been released. The new wing parts are awesome for creating nicely shaped planes, such as this JAS 39 Gripen which I couldn't do before. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/JAS%2039%20Gripen.craft Real-life photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/57/Saab_JAS_39_Gripen_Czech_Air_Force.jpg EDIT: How do I edit the thread title to say [0.25]?
  4. OK, here's my entry: It's based somewhat on the suspension chassis of the Humvee in my military replicas thread, but has been given a new body in the shape of a van! Features a driver seat and lots of space for more kerbals, cargo, or whatever else you want to put in it. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Humdrumvan.craft Part count: 184 (183 with pod to supply kerbal detached) Weight: 7.78 t (with pod to supply kerbal detached) Cost: 49528 Top speed: 22.8 m/s (on runway) Acceleration: 0-10 m/s in 2.8 sec, 0-20 m/s in 9.6 sec
  5. Can it be a vehicle which has already been posted in another thread?
  6. I'll have a look at it. As long as I don't have to rebuild the backbone of the craft, it could work. I tried radial decouplers and it seemed to work here as well, although I have yet to try driving over rougher terrain with it.
  7. Maybe I could make the Patria's suspension a bit softer as well. That would be more real-life-like - we drove about in it over quite rough terrain at reasonably high speed and I barely felt a thing. Any ideas on how to do that while (a) keeping the same track width and ( not rebuilding the whole thing?
  8. Okay, here's the Patria XA-360 AMV ("Pansarterrängbil 360") Mk2! Now it is actually an APC, since it can carry up to 10 kerbals inside. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Patria%20XA-360%20AMV%20Mk2.craft
  9. No new crafts yet, but I got to ride in a Patria XA-360 AMV today. It was awesome! Maybe I can modify the interior of my KSP replica to be something like the real thing now.
  10. Yeah, radial decouplers work well as suspension as long as the car is relatively heavy, because there needs to be a certain amount of force to cause them to bend.
  11. A new addition to the fleet! Meet the Humvee. Now with softer suspension! Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Humvee.craft More info in the OP.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion! I have nothing against mods per se, but I do want to keep these crafts 100% stock parts, so they can be used by everyone. But as you say, Kerbpaint doesn't affect that, so I might give it a try!
  13. Holy Jeb! I'm so going to try this out when I get home.
  14. Here's my latest rover (stock). Does anyone need a tank? More info and craft file here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/90467-Lunait-s-Military-Replicas-0-24
  15. Awesome! I tried to make something like this before, but I always had problems with torque from the rotatrons. It's nice to see that someone got it to work!
  16. Thanks! I wish I could have put something other than empty xenon tanks there, though, but it's a minor issue. Also, I have added links to reference photos from real life for each craft, so you can compare them with the KSP versions.
  17. Not yet, at least not military replica ships. But I might!
  18. Hi! I thought it would be about time to collect the military replica crafts I've made into a single thread, rather than have them in separate threads. Without further ado, here goes! Cars, tanks and other land vehicles Willys MB Jeep This first one is perhaps not an exact replica, but it's sufficiently alike and inspired by the American Willys MB WW2 jeep that I'll include it here anyway. 130 parts, 4 tonnes. Seats 4 kerbals (not included), and has extendable landing legs for repairing broken wheels. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Willys%20MB%20Jeep.craft Real-life photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f2/Willys_jeep.jpg Original thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/86326-Jeeb-4x4-Offroad-Vehicle Patria XA-360 AMV ("Pansarterrängbil 360") This is a new addition to the fleet, in KSP as well as in the Swedish military (they got them in 2013). "Pansarterrängbil" literally means "armored terrain car" in Swedish, so it's aptly named. The military drives them right past my apartment sometimes! Anyway, this is an eight-wheel-drive, heavy-duty beast. Almost 300 parts, 13 tonnes. After having been driven around in one for real, I created the Mk2 version seats which 10 kerbals (not included). Seats four kerbals (not included) with lots of space, so you could put in more seats if you want to. This car also features softer suspension than usual, made out of radial decouplers. Makes for interesting roll effects, as well as increased tolerance for crazy jumps! 220-something parts, 8-and-a-bit tonnes. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Humvee.craft Real-life photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/Saudi_Arabian_Humvee.jpg Aircraft and (maybe) other flying vehicles Saab 35 Draken The Saab 35 Draken is a Swedish Cold War fighter jet designed in the 1950s, in the same era as the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. It's a single-engine supersonic plane that (in real life) has a top speed of about Mach 2. It has a unique "double-delta" wing shape for good manouverability at both low and high speeds. I used to own a 1:72 scale model of this thing when I was a kid. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Saab%2035%20Draken.craft Real-life photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/Saab_Draken.jpg Original thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/90300-Kerb-35-Kraken-%28fighter-jet-replica%29 JAS 39 Gripen The Gripen is the latest fighter jet from Saab. It's a multi-role fighter as indicated by the "JAS" in its name ("Jakt, Attack, Spaning" for air-to-air combat, air-to-surface combat, and reconnaisance). Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/JAS%2039%20Gripen.craft Real-life photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/57/Saab_JAS_39_Gripen_Czech_Air_Force.jpg Lockheed Martin SR-72 More planes! 19. Heh, I'm working on a slightly different military replica atm, but that's a good idea! Or perhaps the Kripen. I should make a collection thread for this stuff.
  20. Well, it is certainly a bit slower to turn, or more gentle. 4G is about maximum sustained force, with a turn radius of 750m or so.
  21. I made a replica of the Saab 35 Draken, a Swedish fighter jet designed in the 1950s, with its characteristic "double delta" wing shape. It flies pretty well in KSP too. 1 toggles the antenna, 2 toggles the ladders. Craft file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24407836/Kerb%2035%20Kraken.craft
  22. Some of my favorites that I've gotten: * Hermes Kerman (has winged space boots) * Dermal Kerman (related to Epidermal Kerman?) * Corner Kerman (doesn't like open spaces) * Orly Kerman (waiting for cousin Yarly to turn up) * Ermy Kerman (ERMAHGERD) * Podrod Kerman (I don't know why, it just sounds funny)
  23. That's a cool and unconventional way to recover launch stages! I just put a pair of parachutes and some landing legs on mine, and did a semi-powered landing.
  24. Another car from me - this time with a V8 engine! Meet the V8 Roadster. Action group 1 activates the "engine" for visual effects. Action group 2 activates the rocket exhausts, which can propel it up to 60 m/s on full throttle (don't try to go faster, since the wheels will burst). It doesn't have much fuel, but hey, the fuel is mostly there for looks anyway. You can use infinite fuel if you want It also has batteries and RTGs for normal rover wheel drive, as well as a probe core.
