Example Mission accomplish

No bringing any Science Gear = -100

SA not according to weight = -10

200 - 100 -10 = 90 points.

Is this correct?

Example 2.

Both Science Gear is under weight = -20

SA not according to weight = -10

200 -20 -10 = 170 points.

Example 3.

1 Science Gear is under weight, and only 1 science gear = (-50) + (-10)

SA not according to weight = -10

200 - 60 -10 = 130 points.

More question:-

1) The above figure shows the maximum score of ???.... If no extra crew. All SA fully fuel. and Science Gear all meet their required weight.

2) When my mission 2 score will be added to leader-board?

1: Yes, but you only need 4 kerbals to get max points. 1 team of 2 kerbals at science gear location A and one team of 2 kerbals at science gear location B. Locations C and D only need to have the gear and the actuators on the ground, no additional kerbals are necessary.

2: I'll take care of that tomorrow.

So I had my own little Kraken attack while flying out to Eve for the mission. I really hate it when this happens.

There are inevitable for Kraken attack for that big ship. I get attack about few times too. Thats why I make so much backup persistent save.

My core-craft still randomly explode. If not for that may strut that hold them together. It already eaten by Kraken.

Other problem that I face. Docking part unable to undock. Docking port unable to attach (dock). etc...Well, I have experience on solving those, so not a big issues.

A challenger appears!

I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks, and I really like the idea behind this challenge, so I'm going to start catching up. Here's my core craft, the Rana.

Key features of the Rana-class include:

6 Kerbal seating capacity

Angled RCS thrusters to keep ladders clear

4 LV-N nuclear engines for interplanetary hauling

2800 m/s dV - sufficient to ferry crew to the Mun and back

640 Kerbal-days of provisions

Water and oxygen recycling capabilities

24 RTGs for massive power generation anywhere, anytime

2 Reflectron GX-128 comms dishes, extending comms range throughout the Kerbol system

2 Commutotron 32 antennas for local probe communications

2 each of the Clamp-O-Tron Jr. and Sr. docking ports

4 Clamp-O-Tron docking ports

1 RC-L01 RGU for remote command and control

Mods: Kerbal Engineering Redux, KW Rocketry, KAS, Kerbal Alarm Clock, FAR, TAC Life Support, Remote Tech 2

I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks, and I really like the idea behind this challenge, so I'm going to start catching up. Here's my core craft, the Rana.

Welcome aboard! Just remember that before you head out to mission 01 you have to do the shakedown run to the Mun and back to LKO.

And refuel...before taking mission 01. (Perhaps, just load the save before leaving for Mun round trip).

@Noldodan that RCS is heavy, and 750 units of gas...not too much?

ah, and welcome Noldodan lets enjoy the mission our-own-way. 700NitroXpress is a nice guy which will adjust accordingly to suite for all. o(^.^)o

Here is what I'm planning on doing for the Moho mission. I'm going to attach a landing assistant engine on the top and bottom of the actuator. The bottom engine should burn up first to slow the descent to the surface, then it ejects and the top engines activate and allow a soft landing. Then the top part ejects off of the actuator and flies away, the actuator is now on the surface in one piece without any additional junk on it, just the way it was in the original picture. The fuel tank on the actuator is still full of fuel.

But your previous post stated that, there will be -10 point if the actuator is not fully fuel.

Well, if you give allow for the fuel line. I'm looking at 112 part count.

if you insisted on not allowing the fuel lines. I'll have to deal with 156 part count.

Ok I am having more issues. Maybe the number of plugins I run, maybe the type of plugins I am running.

Here is what I am having problems with. I am attaching the redesigned SA lander to the bottom of the ship, everything is fine. As soon as I attempt to dock the lander the game locks up and wont respond, left it for 30min to see. It isn't loading more than 3.1GB of RAM, and isn't even using 40% of one core on the i5, my GPU is working at 60% load when this happens so I know its not even that. Total parts count hits 235.

So I sent up a new ship to see if I could drastically reduce the number of parts in the main ship design.

So I made the DX-2.

It is roughly 1/2 the parts count of the XI-2. I think it is all of 45 parts.

When I get to the same stage, dock the lander which is 35 parts to the back of the SA, the game locks up and doesn't respond. This time total parts is 180.

The funny thing is the SP-406 that I used to get it up there is over 250 parts with it in the cargo bay, and it is fine.

I am at a loss... I may just carry the thing there in the SP-406 and fly the XI-2 along side it. But that wouldn't be in the spirit of the challenge.

So I am just going to have to bite the bullet and suffer the points loss and just switch over to the SP-406V which actually is working fine, and is the only thing at of the three ships I have ready to go, that can complete any part of the mission.

Yeah, in your examples, you would be pulling fuel from the actuator which would cause it to land without the full fuel supply. The actuator has to land with full fuel.

Hodo, try uninstalling the game, back up all of your save data. Then reinstall the game. Try doing a dock with an all stock install and test your system to see what the max part count is. Also try launching a 600 part ship, if you get 10 fps, that's fine. Run some KSP stress tests to see what your computer does. Then once you have a baseline to work with, reinstall 1 add-on at a time starting with the parts add-ons. If any of the mods cause a significant reduction in performance or cause the issue to repeat, then don't use that mod.

You should be able to launch a 600 part ship with no problems and dock 2 400 part ships in orbit with no problem. Your frame rate will be low, but that's expected.

If the SA doesn't touch down with full fuel than it's -10 points not mission fail.

The part count on my version that I posted in the picture is around 130 parts and it's excessively powerful for the Moho landing.

I do not understand. I'm not allow to draw fuel from the SA fuel tank. How do I achieve the -10points penalties?

I'm thinking of getting the -10points penalties, and utilize the SA fuel tank. Via fuel lines. Thats make my life much easier.
