Joystick setup

Recommended Posts

So I have just bought a cyborg f.l.y. 5 to use KSP and a few other games. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to setup the stick. From what I saw in the settings, if I have side to side on the stick to use as roll for a space plane, I can't use it as use for a rocket.

So if anyone has any suggestions that would be great :)

If you think of rockets and planes from the pilots point of view roll pitch and yaw has not changed, it only appears so because you're looking from third person view that's fixed to the horizon.

But if you really need to; some controllers have mode switch buttons that allow you to change what axises are assigned to a control. You could set it to switch roll and yaw.

btw setting up a stick is a big pain as a lot of the axis need to be inverted and you need to redo it every time there's an update that's not backward compatible..

That's a good point, didn't think of it like that. One thing I have noticed is that when I am flying a plane and go to roll, the smallest input seems to do about 3 rolls, it feels massively sensitive. I'll mess around with the deadzones and whatnot to see if I can fix it

This is why I always backup my settings.cfg before applying an update and then use a text diff tool to quickly reapply my keys bindings and joystick settings.

An old habit inherited from Dwarf Fortress... :D
