Naten Projects revives the Cessna Tweet and ME-262!

Naten Projects is happy that the hairdryer had enough thrust to work as a jet engine. Wait, uh...what hairdryer? This is a...uh...industrial-grade...uh...kerosene-powered...air-breathing...jet turbine...? We think. Er--that you'll have lots of fun flying with this amazing technology!

NATEN PROJECTS DENIES ALL ACCUSATIONS OF THEFT FROM CRASHED WORLD WAR 2 ERA FIGHTER JETS.

A small engine. It's a good start, at least. :P

V-Series Stacking Solid Boosters (now included in Version 1.0 Beta)

V-B7 Booster-1m. -- comes with 1.25m adapter factory stock built in. In a later version, I'll make one without the adapter for probes, I guess, or maybe even 2.5m payloads. I'll do it sooner if people tell me that they want it, ok?-

It's now textured! :D

Patch 0.2.2 includes a fix for a bug that caused ships using the Basic Jet Engine to cause the game to enter the "void" state (altitude 0000000...) while an aerodynamic effect plays. It also made the ship unable to revert flight, [sometimes, I think,] and also it would make the buildings un-enterable. You could restart the game, but I think the craft would corrupt. Please do not submit these bugs to the forum as a bug, as there's now a warranty void placed on modded installs.

The code: (part.cfg in radial jet engine)

PART
{
// Kerbal Space Program - Part Config

The top: (note)

was the old line, and that was the same as the Basic Jet Engine. :P

So, yeah. That happens. :D

Have fun. And have a glitch-free new patch experience. :)

Please share your opinion with me, no matter what it is. I just love to hear what people have to say... :(

its great. maybe add modular fuel system compatibilty with the loki engine and maybe something a bit special with it ( like have it work with KSP interstellar methane-oxidizer fuel)

For the jet engine: I like the idea of a radial engine. I think KSP could use something like that. I think you model is a good start, but it could use a little work fitting more seamlessly on a craft. Look at the B9 air intakes for what I mean. A texture that matches with stock KSP parts would help that too.

I really like the shape of the rocket engine. We have way too few long bell (and thus relatively high ISP but low thrust) engines in KSP. Strangely the engines in the game that should look like this (because they have high ISP) are actually very short. Maybe it could use some extra details like pipes and valves. Photo's of real rocket engines could provide inspiration. The texture is maybe a little bit bland. The colours are not bad, but it lacks a bit of detail. If you look at other textures you will see that edges are picked out to be a little lighter and look worn and that details like screws and hatches are added.

I think you have a very promising basis here, keep it up!

Thank you, everyone. I'm working on a twin-Loki, and after it's done, I'll make better textures for both Loki engines. Also, the jet engine is made for the Firespitter pack. It blends in much better when used among those. :)

I think the jet engines are a great concept, but in all honesty the model and textures are both rather drab and dull. A little sprucing up would go a LONG way....a bit more definition and features in the model...something more than flat colors on the texture...and maybe some normal mapping.

v1.0 Beta is up for download.

Get your copy here.

It's somewhat fragile, the SRB I made. I don't know why. I made it somewhat OP (overpowered) to make it realistic, as it's only OP compared to the "UP" (under-powered) solid boosters of the stock game. Well, they're under-powered ("UP") in my opinion, but they're tiny, so who's right? Everyone! Now let's crash rockets into the sky.

(It's obviously just a big blue façade, right? RIGHT?)
