Persistence file not loading

Hey all,

I went into my persistence file to replace a part with another one, by copying the relevant information over in a new file. However, this new file appears to have corrupted something, as the "resume saved game" in-game button does not work. I have one sandbox and one career save, and only edited the sandbox save. Any help is appreciated.

Did you copy EVERYTHING? If so, why? Just backup the original save, edit the old one and see if it works.

Either way, without knowing what you changed, we can't help you

Reload the backup copy you made before you started changing things. Won't have the changes you want, but at least it will load.

Often editing like this frazzles out.

You have to make sure that every reference to the oldpart was updated, and even then it sometimes doesnt work.

Right, so I just deleted the whole craft that I tried to edit, and now it's working again. I find it strange that moving one part inside the persistence file borked the button, though. It would be more logical if that specific file stopped working...

If i need to change something ona craft i just send a new one up with the change and swap the orbit info. much simpler and easier.

Make sure you save the persistence as a .sfs and not a .txt

I edited and saved the file as it was, only tweaked around inside it, not on the external stuff

What did you save the file with? Wordpad will mess with the file in such a way that KSP can no longer read it.
