I just added the new Starting-Screen "The Dig" (as I call it :))

but thats not stock. or does the "stocktake" in the title not indicate stock eastereggs? also, update title to 0.24.2?

Define Easter Egg?

You can, definitively, decompile and examine the code for KSP to find any feature that might be lurking in there that no-one knows about.

While software tools can plausibly do a lot of that for you there are human-contextual links (knock-on effects, puns, historical references, 'faces') between apparently different sections of code that no programme would be able to understand.

It's almost certainly against the licence to decompile the code anyway.

Apart from that ... Get out there and survey ever procedural centimetre of every planet and moon, under every conceivable circumstance - then we'll believe we've got them all!

Also there is the Rumor about the Rovertracks. Here you go. Unfortunately there is no Marker in Kerbalmaps.

I just landet on minmus on these coordinates and nothing i can see about Rovertracks. Maybe they are removed yet?

Seeing as though I sent this in a message to M1ke and haven't gotten a reply back yet, I'll post the message here, in hopes he sees it. It is about a tiny parachute easter egg, and I wish to have it added to this thread.

Turns out that it's an easter egg (confirmed by val_sager in a forum post about this supposed bug): http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/74760-Parachute-bug

I can confirm that it exists in 0.24.2. All I did was send a pod with the small parachute, reach a height were I could semi-deploy it, deployed it, quicksaved, and then quickloaded. Here are a couple of screenshots: http://imgur.com/f1dZHgd and http://imgur.com/1PdTLhw.

I hope that you add this easter egg to your thread. I'm surprised that this isn't a well-known easter egg. Then again, how many people would quicksave with their parachutes semi-deployed, and then need to reload the quicksave?"

For some reason I am unable to view the forum thread about this easter egg now :l. But at least this is a very simple easter egg that anyone could produce themself.

I think "stocktake" in the title refers to taking stock of all the Easter eggs, rather than taking only the stock ones. So that fake Mun mission screen I say we keep, but with an indication that it's from Toolbar.

Also, I'm hereby including this friendly sign to anyone who comes by and wonders where that fake Mun landing screen came from:

IT'S FROM TOOLBAR.

I'm messing with modding those days, and I saw something in the initialized game objects : Anyone knows what the "Tomb of the Lost Kerbal" is supposed to be?

It could just be the Desert Pyramid easter egg.

Thanks for sending in that request turkwinif. But i dont think this an easteregg.

replacing a Fully deployed Parachute with a tiny one when quickloading looks more like a bug to me :/

Maybe salvager comes across this thread at some point but even he is only a mod and not a dev.

That was a funny Week when Blizzy's Starting menu came live and even I confused it with a Stock Easter Egg because it was so WELL done. Nontheless I was so amused by it that I thought about giving it a little mod-section in this thread... but then I had to go through all the mods available to check them for eastereggs too, just to be fair which would completely lock me up at home for years :D

You've got the coordinates here as Curiosity-Cam (-30.3 , -26.8), which differs by almost 2 degrees from what kerbalmaps.com has, which is more like -30.3, -28.66 (-30.3525 : -28.6828 to be exact).

But I can't find it there either. I've got resolution set to full.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Easter eggs that small are usually very hard to pinpoint coords to and are hard to find, considering how large of areas you have to search. Continue to look, I'll hyperedit a rover to the coords given and scout around for it.

EDIT: I must say after about an hour of looking on high terrain detail I could not find it. I triple checked my coordinates and they're correct.

Hi Algomeysa,

I actually dont think it is gone because I saw it just recently.

But what I ran into is, that either the KSP-Mapview or Kerbal Engineer tends to flip the coordinates around

IE:

Instead of -30.3, -28.66

Try to find it at -28.66, -30.3

Because the cam is really hard to find, disable terrain scatter.

This will make it a lot easier.

Heh, elsewhere I was given the tip that it wasn't visible unless terrain scatter was enabled, so I turned it on.

That didn't seem probable, but I tried it. I'll try it again disabled.

And I'll try looking for it in the flip, -28.66 south, -30.3 west, But I don't believe that's going to do it either;

Kerbalmaps.com is usually pretty accurate on the coordinates of anomalies, and they have it at

-30.3525 south -28.6828 west

which specifically boils down to SOUTH 30 21 08 WEST 28 40 58 from the Kerbal-eye view.

I've got Jeb there with a flag planted nearby and his rover parked about 250 meters away, and I can't see anything.

Somewhat mysteriously, even though the slope of the hill doesn't seem that great, I can't seem to park a rover on those coordinates, it always, even with brakes on, slides down the hill about 250 meters.

I tried malfunction mike's suggestion of reversing the coordinates, but it wasn't there either.

So, getting back to the S 30 21 08 W 28 40 58 position for the Curiosity-Cam That Doesn't Seem To Be there.
