Favourite rover - lander configuration

Recommended Posts

I use a 4 'ruggified' wheel rover as a science drone that has a landing gear leg on top to righten up itself when it has accidentally overturned.

It's lands on top of a six-legged lander, then drives off the top. Occassionally, it ends up upside-down when driving off, but due to the design, no problem there.

I also tried to land the rover below the lander, upright and inverted, but this didn't work quite as well.

My unkerbaled probe-rover I slung under a lander (with side mounted rockets). My 2-kerbal rover, on my Duna mission, I attached at a 45 degree angle on the side of the lander. It slide right off (after extensive testing on Kerbal).
