Duna Request

Right now I can see a small bright speck outside my window. I know its mars since I took a picture with my camera and it came out bright red and planet like. (Yeah im sure its mars)

Anyway, there is a myth that duna can be seen from the surface of kerbin sometimes... Please can someone find a picture of this!

Thats probably just Minmus

If your willing to use a telescope mod you can go in ksp, launch a telescope from ordan telecopes set Duna as target, and point it at the target marker on the navball, if your close enough, when you look in the telescope you should be able to see duna

The only thing I have ever seen is Minmus during the daytime at KSC. You can see it in the upper right of this picture. I wonder though at night if you could see other planets like you can from Earth, worth investigating I guess if someone is bored LOL.

Meant further than Mun Actually my first time playing there was a solar eclipse, but I had not learned the controls to get a picture of it sadly.

I don't know about Kerbin's surface, but I wouldn't be surprised If it can be seen from orbit. I'll have to try it once I unlock the Cupula

I think I have read once that you can zoom in when you are in IVA mode and see other Planets But I have never tried it nor do I know if that is meant from Kerbin.

Always try to find planets if I fly to them... Never able to find them!

With Minmus, same things until I had a reason (science) to go to Kerbin's polar regions. Now I see Minmus all the time!

Besides the Mun and Minmus, the only body I've ever been able to see from Kerbin is Eve, which I saw once from Kerbin orbit.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that distant planet visibility is something the devs were working on. Can anyone back me up on this?

You can see Jool from inside the cockpit sitting at Kerbin surface.

Bearing in mind you can see virtually all the planets from above the atmosphere, at the right time, scroll in with the cupola IVA view and you'll find it- Jool came out for me as 2 green pixels on the screen when I was looking for it so anything is possible

Tried it with a telescope mod. You're definitely not SUPPOSED to see other planets, at least.

Depending on the time of day, it might be Mercury. That one's usually much brighter in the sky.

I have seen Jool, Duna, and Eve through just the stock, cockpit window... You just have to line everything up correctly.

EDIT: Found some pics, though this was done in good old .17, so I assume that nothing has changed since then...

To be honest if it renders the Mun and Minmus, I see no reason why the others wouldn't be.

Also there is the Observatory portion of the game that will be added at some stage, so they would have to be viewable for that to work.
