Scaling against other parts

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, from what I've read around the place, ideally you want to get your model set and don't make any further changes to it before you start texturing it and unwrapping it, because if you do change the geometry, your unwrap won't match the new model.

To make sure I don't have to go back and forth an waste time, I was wondering if I could import models of stock parts into Blender, no textures required, purely to get a sense of scale. I'm aware of how Blender units match up to KSP units, and I think I've got the width of my model pretty much sorted. (I'm making a simple fuel tank for my first part, and I've looked up radius sizes thanks to hoojiwana's awesome compilation of modding links).

So my question is, is it possible, or is there another way to assess the scale of my parts against the stock ones?
