Changing capsule orientation

Lets say i want to rotate my capsule by 90', so on launchpad it dont points up, but on the side.. But i want my navball still show that i am pointed towards the sky!

How do i do that?

The easiest way to do this is to rotate your craft in the VAB (vehicle assembly building) and then attach either a docking port or probe core on the new "top" of your vessel.

What Taki said. BUT remember, once on the pad and before you light up, to switch "control from here" to whatever's on top. Otherwise it will be the sideways pod (if it's occupied) and the navball will show accordingly.

Well, thats some solution.

But i like to fly in IVA, with MPSS Nautilius pod - it offers large field of vision. Its impossible this way. Pointing capsule on the side woudl be usefull during landings.

Your best bet then is to make an VTOL. Once you get it balanced and you have enough TWR to get air born, pitch up, dump your engines, then burn for the stars.

Please note, this was made using Lack Luster Labs, B9 Aerospace and Real Chute parachute system it does NOT have enough dV to reach Kerbin orbit (was not designed to)

Well this doesnt help my oryginal problem, but thanks anyway, because you inspired me to make symilar VTOL myself.
