Albatross

Did anyone else notice that the default plane the "albatross" (which is probably the first one most people fly) has the same name as the first airplane ever built in Jules Verne's science fiction book "Robur the Conqueror"?

I've never seen It as a a name for a plane before kerbal space program and then I read the book.

I always thought it was called that because of the bird that looks like it's drunk when it tries to fly.

I've never noticed that... Always thought it had to do with the shape amd size if the wings

Your post is the first time I've heard of that name being applied to a plane. I had no idea it was in KSP. I've never looked at the prebuilt things in stock.

The only thing regarding the albatross I was aware of was the legend of their appearance bringing bad luck. or was it killing one brings bad luck?... something about bad luck.
