Now that the "Jade Rabbit" is safely off the landing module, what Luna scenery or science stuff would you pay money to see ?

I would pay for China to:

Drive over to the Apollo 12 remains and broadcast pictures, stick it to those conspiracy nuts.

Yutu can't drive 1400 km. It has a range of 10km. The closest Apollo is 15 at 800 km.

i read somewhere that nothing can land, manned or unmanned or even aproach more than 100m to the apollo landing sites, im not sure how much the distances werw exactly or if it was only applied for apollo 11 landing site, :C

Yeah, there was some talk about preserving the landing sites, because they're historical artifacts and stuff, but what really could stop anyone from going that close? Nobody owns the Moon, so US government cannot do anything about it.

I think the descent modules and surrounding equipment should stay untouched where they are, but in the future I'd imagine that they'll be popular tourist destinations. Like a space museum.

It wouldn't hurt just to drive up a hill 1K away and take a photo, right? Also Coldfinger, my computer is made in Japan, so there! :)

Made in Japan doesn't necessarily means that it's components were manufactured in Japan but that it was at least assembled there.

Anyway, I already pay China with all electronics I own. Not clothes because they come from national fabrics, but even my screwdrivers came from China.

It would be awesome if they sent a manned mission to the Moon.

Chinese engineering is far different from ocidental engineering, their stuff sometimes look a bit weird to us, something like "I doubt that this is gonna work".

But the proof that it works and pretty solid is right there, at the Moon.

This mission completelly changed my point of view about China.

Dig out a map FFS! There are no hills around Chang'e because they chose a flat area for their landing. And even if there were, it couldn't have a line of sight at 400km because of the curvature of the Moon.

And yes, it would hurt. The rover has a potentially limited lifespan. It could break down tomorrow, so the priority is to get as much science out of it as they can, not to waste exploration time with stupid stunts. Nobody doubts that the Apollo landing sites are still there so there is nothing to prove. And Chinese scientists don't give a *£$@ what conspiracy nutjobs think.

Here is a tip for visualizing the landing location and getting an idea of the scale.

- Download Google Earth here: http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html

- In the Google Earth, click the Planet icon in the toolbar and select Moon.

- Enter the landing coordinates for Chang'e in the Search bar: 19.51° W, 44.12° N

- Explore.

You're both wrong, the whole thing is being filmed in a sound stage in the middle of the Mongolian desert.

Nonsense. The gravity is obviously lower than on Earth. My guess is that it's shot either on Mars, or inside the Earth (check hollow Earth, it's solid science).

Apollo 11, sure, preserve the site, the first steps on the Moon is the closest we have to "sacred ground". When you look at the landing site in terms of lunar science, it is pretty dull, so we're not losing much anyway. Other sites, like 15, are interesting enough to be revisited, either by robots or manned missions.

But how would the Chinese be able to film inside the hollow earth when it's full of Nazis?

Because the aliens have created a cloaking field just under Mongolia, beneath which the filming is performed and Elvis lives.

Duh! PRC (people's republic of China) and the underground Nazis are allied. The PRC controls Tibet where the Shangrila gates to the hollow Earth are, and tradesfood and other necessities in exchange for secret alien science.

I mean, who do you think is leading the Chinese space program? it's a well known fact that every rocket ever has been built by **** scientists.

And the alleged coal seam fires in China? cover up for secret **** underground factories.

Oh, and check that : Elvis http://www.peter-janmischke.eu/elvis.jpg

Xi Jinping, president of PRC : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Xi_Jinping_Sanya2013.jpg

Either his clone or his son.

1. To them, you're the nut.

2. They'll just say Jade Rabbit is staged as well.

How about paying them to send the conspiracy theorists to the Moon to see for themselves?
