Is there a hotkey for pulsing the engine?

When landing on surfaces it would be really nice to have a hotkey to pulse the engine ever so slightly instead of the throttle up and down approach. Does one exist?

There's not a direct hotkey assignable like the SRS toggle, but you can use an custom action group to toggle the specific engine.

Within the VAB you can define action groups. Put the 'toggle engine' in custom group 01, then you can toggle the engine with the key '1' during flight.

And then you try to turn SAS on before going into docking mode, press a bit on the right side and end the mission in a fiery blaze

Ah, sorry-brain freeze. It's a bit late In most of central Europe, Z and Y are swapped on keyboards.

@OP: Action groups are probably your best bet. If you forget to set one up... Actions on the fly is more versatile.

The vanilla way of doing this (that I've discovered) is to first hold down control with your pinky, then tap shift with your ring finger. As long as you tap the throttle and don't hold it down for long it will only send out a tiny pulse of very low thrust. Useful during landings, and that last bit of orbital maneuvers.
