Question: can forum posts be deleted from threads?

I'm just wondering, it is possible for someone to delete their own posts, or can only moderators do that? if so, How?

Yeah, you can. If you Edit your post, then go to the Advanced editor page, you can delete your post from there. I think there is a Delete button somewhere on the inline editor form, but I'm not sure.

I cannot find anywhere to delete my own topics or posts  something you can do on other forum software (which I won't name to avoid seeming like spam)

I think the user should be able to delete their own posts (& topics too  at least, before anyone has replied). I also think the user should be allowed to edit their post without getting that annoying "Last edited by" msg (at least until someone else replies  again like that "other forum software" does).

Here I go, I'm about to push the dreaded Submit button & be forever linked to this version of this post, wish me luck!...hopefully I don't have to edit it! (or I'll get that nasty "Last edited by" msg)

If I may make an observation, FORUM_TEST_2-19-14, your account still seems to be under the permissions restrictions we enforce on new users as part of our anti-spambot countermeasures. The option to delete your own posts might be one of the options that's restricted for people who are still on your side of the filter, along with most profile and signature customization options.
