Space Shuttle Endeavour [Updated]

After many hours of testing I have made a new version of my Shuttle that is now called Endeavour, I know original right. Shuttle can be used to transfer crew but is mainly made for building space stations or launching satellites.

Features:

- Lifting capacity of 6 tons (tested so far)

- Supports 2m parts such as Science module

- Looks like the a real space shuttle

- About 400 parts with no payload

- Space for 3 Kerbals

Action groups:

- 1: toggle booster engine 1

- 2: toggle booster engine 2

- 3: toggle orbital engines

- 4: toggle main shuttle engines

Here are some pictures of the new Space Shuttle.

Flight instruction:

1. Throttle up and press space

2. Depending on the payload use the orbital engines to keep balance, keep a slight angle

3. Coast to 10km

4. Engage gravity turn.

4. When turned keep orbital engines on

5. When needed disable the one of the booster engines.

6. You can separate the booster when you want but it is more efficient if you do, no real specific time for separation. At this point shuttle can fly with or without.

7. Burn at a 60 degree angle until the tank runs out(booster runs out when the upper main shuttle engine shuts down) if so press 4 to shut down all engines

8. You now should have a apoapis of about 90-100km, coast to about 25 sec before your apoapis and circularize.

Disclaimer:

These instructions seem highly complicated and therefore I advice to watch the instruction video.

That should be when you are almost horizontal, just cut the engines to prevent it and separate the tank.

I hope this helps and btw I check your shuttle and that liquid/solid combo really could make this shuttle more efficient.

I'm going to test that tomorrow and probably make a video too. Lastly can you describe when you get the flip out?

I'm pretty sure the reason for the flip out was more pilot error on my end.

Damm, sorry for the spamming. When i uploaded it to spaceport it had a error so I might have spammed the upload bottom out of frustration. Is there any way of deleting them?

Again sorry it was not my intention ;.;

it is not possible to delete a post on spaceport without changing the code

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey Kerbalnauts, I got some awesome work to show you that will soon be coming to the forums.

Jcw8KJj.png

It has a bigger cargo bay and has just launched a 7.5 ton in a 85km/85km orbit. It also has updated orbital engines that look like the real deal.

You can expect the update late this week if all goes as planned. Feedback is always respected....
