Duckie here, a new flight director. I've already become fairly proficient at achieving Kerbin orbit. My short term goals are to orbit around Mun, do some SCIENCE, and play with different types of orbits around Kerbin (Molniya orbits are very intriguing). Right now I'm in test phases of my rocket to Mun. I think an extra solid booster stage should leave me with enough fuel to make it work.

Try a design similar to this where you can ditch the three outboard engines on launch from the Mun. (You can easily land on the three outboards on this design if you don't have fuel lines in career.)

This was built in the demo version.

I added some science stuff to that same set-up, and I'm now in orbit around Kerbin with about 900L of fuel in my last main stage engine. Asparagus staging is the greatest thing ever.
