I'm just a space enthusiast. I guess many people know about SpaceEngine, just give it a try anyway it looks superb and yesterdays release now have this.

Space ships:

Supporting of emission textures

Supporting of modular models

Updated Ships Manager: ability to build, rename and destroy spacecrafts, sorting tables by any column

Easy installing of ships addons: just copy files into SpaceEngine folder, and new ships become available in the Ships Manager's build menu

Some old ships models changed to modular models

New "SS Basic", "SS Cargo", "SS Science", "Fire Dragonfly" and "Skylone" ships

Computing the Keplerian orbital elements and rendering the Keplerian orbit of the ship

Atmospheric flight physics

Spaceship Control Panel with Autopilot buttons

Spaceship HUD (Head-Up Display) for atmospheric and space flight modes

Ships may have Main engines, Retro (Braking) engines, Hover engines and Correction engines that can be controlled separately

New ship control system: rotation with mouse, changing Main Engines and Hover Engines thrust with mouse wheel or by Control Panel, WASD keys controls correction engines only

Additional parameters in the spaceship config file (engine thrust, hyperdrive, aerodynamics)

Improved autopilot: orientation commands (Prograde, Retrograde etc), and automatic hyperjump to selected body

Simulation and Orbital physics modes for spaceships (unfinished, switch modes on the Spaceship Control panel)

Static Keplerian orbit mode for space stations artifical satellites

Improved warp bubble effect

Wow, amazing I must try it right away.

Yes, SpaceEngine now has realistic orbital flight and simple controls for spaceships. I have been playing the last update almost all day today - its wonderful guys, just wonderful. This can easily become the best realistic space sim out there.

FINALLY Space Engine supports emissive textures on models, for things like illuminated windows and the like. That Enterprise looks beautiful.

Figures I'd be traveling and stuck with a stupid Acer mininotebook when the new version of SE comes out. Grrrr.

And AVI renders too! Can't wait to try that out. It's nearly impossible to Fraps an SE video without some stuttering.

I have no idea how to control the ships. Anyone got a link to a tut or anything?

I just want to control it from chasecam and stuff!

For simplicity sake. Go to earths orbit. Then build a ship in orbit and take control of it. There's a button to show the orbit and one to show the ship. Now you can use the 6 directions buttons (prograde, etc) to adjust the orbit with the engines. If your orbit is not showing, it's very likely to be a hyperbolic orbit and the eccentricity e is higher than one, so just burn retrogade for a more elliptical orbit.

I need this and I need this NOW!

Also, inf fuel?

Totally... There's no fuel actually.. You feel much more like a god than anything else. You even have a interstellar engine, but the controls are a bit more bugged than in KSP it feels.
