Did you name your space agency?

My space agency is named Phoenix Space Corp.

Why ? Because our crafts fly, then they burn (or explode), and they are eventually rebuilt from the salvaged debris. Long story short : trial and error is at the heart of my KSP philosophy and hence the Phoenix is the perfect symbol for my fictional space agency.

Many many muns ago when I was growing up, I had imaginary companies that made sci-fi tech, so I've reused some of them: Merklin Enterprises (which is Merklin Heavy Industries in KSP, because I was planning on messing with Kethane on that save) and Next Phase Incorporated (which is Next Phase Incorporated on one save, Next Phase Technologies on another)

The save I made solely for KSP Reddit challenges is "Bad Idea Factory", though I've to date only bothered to complete one challenge (#12, though it technically completes several others) and have yet to post it --> http://imgur.com/a/6lZSW

I name my ships Australian Space Ship followed by the designation e.g. A.S.S. Apollo Mk.1. Some of the names get rather funny when you include the word 'probe'. I still get a little immature chuckle each time i scroll through my craft list.

It's just about fun. In fact, there is no logical reason for naming these agencies. But, it's good to have one that differs from the others.

Anyway, i'm so glad this topic didn't die yet.

You said it, at least in my case. Pretending I have an agency/private spacecraft company motivates me to build safer, more efficient, greater capability (Mun lander vs Mun lander+Mun rover), and better-looking crafts. It also provides a lot of fun for me, not only whilst playing but also whist releasing and reporting on spacecraft.

I didn't give my main career game a name; I just call it "Career".

My biggest success in that game was my design for a reusable interplanetary shuttle with about 7,000m/s of delta-v. It's designed to spend its whole lifetime in space; all it needs between missions is more fuel and a new payload. They delivered my first landers to Dres and Ike and returned to Kerbin.

As others have said, its about having fun. Friends ask me how the XAC is doing today, so I can tell them about the poor week they had, with the 80% failure at launch rate and the dozens of stranded kerbals flying through space. XD

My agency is primarily focused on science, exploration, and expansion out into the depths of the cosmos. Research and development is also undertaken. I will not besmirch the name of my good company, so my spacecraft must be fully functional and aesthetically pleasing (aesthetics where possible; basic landers don't count, but I still try to give them some looks), which has resulted in some pretty unique designs even if I do say so myself. Some designs are available here, and the selection is occasionally updated and added to.
