Science disappearing

In 0.23, whenever I send out an unmanned probe to collect science, after I do an experiment and transmit the data, the science module goes offline. This makes unmanned probes completely useless. (And extremely frustrating when I got to Eve.) Am I doing something wrong?

The mini lab and goo canister are one use only unless cleaned out at a mobile lab, and that needs to me manned by two Kerbals to work.

The other sensors are multi-use though.

or just add more goo canisters/labs to your ship
