Should I get ksp on steam if I already have it from the site?

If you bought KSP before it was released on Steam then you should have an option to transfer when you log into your account on the main KSP site. If you are able to go that route it's a permanent transfer though, you won't be able to download it direct from the KSP site if that matters to you. Mods work the same on steam as they do otherwise too.

<-- Steam bought here, and FenrirWolf is right, I run the same mods as my buddy who got it from the KSP site, so, if thats your only hold back, its a non issue, but, if downloading updates from KSP's site is, then, stay. BUT, as you know, i assume you do, KSP auto-updates if on steam, so keep that in mind.

I use the KSP site instead of Steam because I don't have a Steam and I don't care about download times (I usually start it shortly after it goes live). Use Steam, don't use Steam, it's all up to you; the only major differences are server speed and auto-updates, everything else about KSP are identical.

I bought mine before it was available on Steam but have not bothered to migrate to steam yet. Steam is a good platform and it makes updating and screenshot sharing easy, but I like being able to have different install directories for when I want to mess around with different mod settings for separate installs without having to juggle data through steam.

Biggest advantage is being able to see how a whole new mod setup works in a testbed before integrating those mods into my actual campaign / playtime installation.
