Ripped off real life space stations

The moon is soooo mainstream right now and I didn\'t feel like making another space plane so I decided to build a few space stations. They\'ve had some ill fated launches, made worse because the early ones had RTGS from the probo... Nova\'s probe pack on board, those certainly can\'t be good on re-entry.

My first station when I didn\'t really have an idea on their weights and wanted something that would definitely stay in orbit. It actually had so much fuel I was able to slingshot from the orbit I was in, orbit the moon, and return to a stable orbit.

I downloaded the Noyuz capsule and stuck it on my newer station and it turned out to look a lot like Mir, but 'kerbalized' names are terrible and this also isn\'t named Mir.

My newest station, currently in orbit is not actually named Salyut. I was looking for inspiration and remembered the Salyut program and went to make a station to scale with the Noyuz capsule attached. I think it\'s pretty close and I wish the solar panels could stick out like the Salyut, but other than that I\'m really happy with it!

The launch went to hell quite quickly but I got it under control after one of the SRB\'s fell off. Thanks to my main engine\'s thrust vectoring the Adv SAS was able to keep it level.

Not-Salyut I successfully in orbit between 151KM and 140 KM.

In all a pretty hair raising flight that ended in success!

Oh how I wish for docking and space stationey activities!

Well of course its unimaginative. I was more concerned with getting my stations in orbit and keeping them grouped together in my saves at first. There I\'ll change the names.

Space Stations would make more fun with mulitplayer and docking ;D, but if we use multiplayer there would be much accidents with collusions xD

The 6 way connector is called The Node in the releases section and the solar panels and doodads all over are from Nova\'s Probodobdyne pack. I still don\'t remember how to spell that, I think...

Another space station I made on a whim was this:

An Ion Cannon from Command and Conquer. It isn\'t very good IMO, I need to look for more parts and its damn unruly to get into an orbit.

So I made a new 'Salyut' station and I just happened to coincide with the Salyut 4 diagram I used with my fourth redesign. Unfortunately I actually made the stability worse, probably with the asymmetrical solar panels, so now I\'m stuck with these out of place struts.

I just made Skylab, I\'m pretty happy with it and had to do a bit of a workaround for the three solar panels near the top.

I really, really like space stations you see. I wanted to build a 'to-scale' Mir station compared to the size of the Soyuz craft attached to it. Its still a work in progress and the launch vehicle is very very unstable and tumbles a lot and I was unable to deploy it into an orbit but I made it into space! Next stop, an actual orbit!

This is the affront to all sane rocketry that got me there.

I used the gigantic launch pad mod that I wish I could remember the name of that allows you to launch above the tower because Mir kept hitting it and the rockets kept breaking without being held still.
