Rapiers are fine, its air intakes that are overpowered. Theyre able to intake air at altitudes where there simply shouldnt be any air in the first place.

Just saying, that SSTO is overengineered, you can reach LKO with just 4 intakes.

With the RAPIER (is that what you are talking about?) you only need one ram intake.

That engine is also totally noob-proof. My first ever SSTO was a super fast build with one RAPIER, one ram intake. And I made it into orbit on my first try (well, after I reverted and added solar panels).
