Why there shouldn't be AI animals on kerbin

I'd like to see something in the lines of some wormy creature that you can capture,send to space and do some science with it :P

Kerbals are nigh indestructible while in rag-doll mode :sticktongue: Good luck to any predator trying to chew on something, that can survive lithobraking with terminal velocity just by going limp.

True, but regardless of that, I would like to see a lion trying to chew a Kerbal while the little guy is grinning. Or a shark. Sharks grab the prey and move it around very fast. That would be funny to see.

The lag, you might as well and cities with a function, and you can land on a building, you can't land on a animal ( legally)

That's human laws, not Kerbal. They don't have animals, so if they magically appeared then they probably would want to use them as rocket testing targets.

Oh, and the thread title isn't a question, it's a statement.

Maybe in a mod, but it's a HUGE amount of extra work - all the way from rewriting core code right up to creating new animations - just for a neat feature most people will ignore after 5 minutes.

Why would you need to re-write core code? It's just some 3d models with basic animations that collide with the terrain. Basically simplified Kerbals that you can't control, don't have ragdoll physics, and aren't as high of quality.
